AI Mental Health Hackathon at UA Little Rock

LISA Academy West High School students David and Karissa teamed up with LISA alum Abdalrahman Alkarakooly to develop Teen 2 Teen, an innovative program designed to help teens connect with one another and support mental health.

Their work stood out so much that Josh Gonzalez from the Arkansas Crisis Center is bringing the project to life—and he’s keeping the team involved every step of the way!

Leelin, a 9th grader from LISA Academy North Middle-High, was also a member of the winning team of the Hackathon, Focus Coach. Their project was a website extension to help users focus on their work with pop up messages and words of encouragement. The team won $2,100 to split between members!

We’re incredibly proud of our students and alumni using AI for good and making a tangible impact in our community. Shoutout to former WMS students Leelin and Vishak who also participated.
